This weekend I visited Del Sur located in the heart of Statesboro, Georgia. This restaurant takes its spin on mexican food by creating unique tacos, quesadillas, bowls, and so much more. If you're looking for an aesthetic, mainly outdoor restaurant, this is the place for you. But it's not just the atmosphere that makes dining here great. The customer service here is top-notch. Our waiter was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. This is something that I truly value when eating out because it will make or break your experience. Given that the majority of seating is outdoors, this restaurant provides heaters for days where cold fronts may come through. As for a rainy day, no worries they have got you covered (literally). A weather protective cover will keep rainy weather away should you dine in during those conditions. There is some indoor seating at this restaurant, however I recommend eating outside. Another thing to note, they have an incredible full-service bar outdoors that you may walk up to, order a drink, or just chill at when waiting for your table. Got young kids with you who may be impatiently waiting for the table to be ready? Let them play some corn hole that is provided outside while they wait. There is so much more to love about this restaurants ambiance, be sure to go and check what all Del Sur has to offer!

Now let's get to the good part, the food and drinks! We were asked if we would like some chips and salsa to start out with. Of course we had to try the salsa. Their salsa was interesting, yet pretty good. The salsa had a sort of smoked taste to it, which paired really nice with their fresh tortilla chips. As a starter for the table, I ordered some yummy chips and queso. The chips specifically (as mentioned before with the salsa) were to die for. They had this incredible seasoning on them, but just the right amount. They were crispy, warm, and overall some of the best tortilla chips I have ever tasted. The queso was your typical white cheese, just with a little bit of a kick. This appetizer came out fresh and we were also offered refills on chips as needed. Overall, I would give these chips and queso an eight out of ten. Moving on to their specialty cocktails. My group and I tried the Blackberry and Tom Collins Mojito. Both of these were delicious! I would definitely recommend these two if you like a sweeter cocktail. My rating for these two comes in at a strong nine out of ten. Finally, what most people look for when choosing where to dine in, are the main dishes! I actually was able to try two of the bowls that Del Sur has to offer. The Poke bowl is an amazing dish that is everything sushi lovers dream of, just with a mexican side to it! Fresh pieces of tuna, cucumber, avocado, and so much more drizzled with a fabulous slightly spicy sauce. The other dish I had the opportunity to try was the Baja Bowl. When I tell you this bowl was incredible, it was INCREDIBLE! I chose the shrimp on top, however, you can get it with any other protein of your choosing. The rice paired really nice with their shrimp and sauce drizzled on top. If I had to recommend one thing and one thing only from this restaurant, it would have to be this Baja Bowl. My rating for the bowls at Del Sur you may ask? Easy answer, ten out of ten. I will be certain to try out the variety of tacos this restaurant has to offer during my next visit.
If you're not in the mood for any kind of bowl during your visit to Del Sur, no worries. This restaurant offers a large variety of specialty tacos, quesadillas, and so much more. I will one hundred percent be back to try other dishes at this cute restaurant in the lovely Statesboro, Georgia. Try it and let me know what you think!
